One of the manifestos of Jubilee government when it was being voted in was building of Standard gauge railway which was to facilitate transport. It was to meant to facilitate transportation of goods & passangers from Mombasa to Nairobi & in few years time connect various cities in the country. Since it was constructed  it has come with various impact both negative & positive. I will go through some of it impacts briefly. Decongesting Mombasa city. Since it's construction there has been notable decrease in the number of trucks in county of Mombasa. Now few  trucks access the port through docks & shimanzi. Tourism promotion. There has been reduced cost of carrying passengers to and from Mombasa. Hence tourism has been given a major boost Environmental protection.
